My Avthor won't show tidaling or fluctuation

First make sure the bag is hanging up high. The Avthor works through gravity so to have the correct pressure it needs to be hung on an IV Pole.If this does not resolve the pressure issue...Make sure you have the device calibrated on the app. 

If this does not resolve the pressure issue...Make sure the pressure on the chest drainage unit (CDU) reads in the middle of the water seal chamber. If the pressure is reading too high or too low, you will not see the tiding and fluctuation as easily. Use the arrows at the bottom of the Avkin app to manually increase and decrease the intrathoracic pressure so the pressure reads about in the middle of the water seal chamber

If this does not resolve the pressure issue...Make sure there are no kinks in the tubing.

If this does not resolve the pressure issue...Make sure all black neoprene plugs are tightly in the drilled-out holes in the CDU. If one of them is loose or misplaced, your Avthor is now operating in an open system and you will not be able to see any tidaling, fluctuation or air leak.

If this does not resolve the pressure issue...Make sure you have chosen a breath setting in the avkin app to start the tidaling and fluctuation. 

If this does not resolve the pressure issue...Make sure the “Open to air” slider is turned off in the app. You will not see tidaling and fluctuation when an air leak is turned on. If this does not resolve the pressure issue...Make sure you don't have too much blood in your tubes, you will not be able to see the tidaling and fluctuation as well. Empty the blood into your attached CDU to see the tidaling and fluctuation better.
