# Can I use Avkin devices while they are plugged in during a simulation?
In most cases, **we recommend fully charging your Avkin device before use** to ensure optimal performance and reduce wear on the charging port.
Here’s a quick breakdown by product:
- **Avbirth and Avband**: These devices **cannot be used while charging**. Please ensure they are fully charged prior to your simulation.
- **Avthor**: This is the **only Avkin device designed to be plugged in during use**.
- **All other devices**: While they may function while plugged in, we advise caution. Regular use while charging can strain or damage the charging port over time.
