How to Clean and Maintain Your Avkin Devices
Regular cleaning keeps your Avkin devices in top condition and ready for the next simulation. Follow these general care instructions to ensure your equipment stays clean, safe, and long-lasting.
Before You Begin
Before cleaning, disconnect all power sources from your device. Ensure it is turned off and unplugged to prevent damage or injury.
Cleaning Instructions
1. Silicone Surfaces
-
Wipe with a damp, lint-free cloth to remove residue or debris.
-
If needed, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer (≥60% alcohol) to remove moulage or makeup.
-
Once dry, lightly brush on baby powder or cornstarch to maintain the soft finish.
-
For darker tones, mix in a small amount of cocoa powder with cornstarch for a natural appearance.
-
2. Hard Plastic Components
-
Clean removable hard plastic parts using a disinfecting wipe and/or distilled water.
-
Rinse and dry completely before reassembly or storage.
- It is best to avoid tap water as much as possible as it may promote the growth of mold.
3. General Cleaning Option
-
All Avkin products may be wiped down with hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol or a Sani-Cloth–type disinfecting wipe for a quick clean in between uses.
Important Tips
-
Do not submerge any device or component in water or cleaning solution.
-
Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage silicone or internal sensors.
-
Always allow all components to air dry completely before use or storage.
