      How to Set Up the Cold Water Pump for Blanching (Avwound)

      The cold water pump is used exclusively for blanching set-ups with the Avwound device. Follow the steps below to properly set up the system for use in your simulation.

      A. Prepare the Cooler

      1. Fill the cooler with ice up to the ice line.

      2. Add cold water until it reaches the water line.

      3. Secure the lid onto the cooler.

      B. Connect the Tubing

      1. Locate the tubing labeled with a blue tag coming from the blanching ring.

      2. Connect this tubing to the cooler’s tubing connections (2 connections total).

      C. Complete the Setup

      1. Plug the cooler’s power cord into an outlet and the cooler unit.

      2. Finish placing the simulated wounds and complete the wound setup on the Standardized Patient (SP).

      3. Connect the Avkin App to the device.

      4. Blanching will begin within 5–10 minutes once the cooler is plugged in and the fluid connectors are attached.
