My Avstick is leaking.

Line Divider-SMALLIf your Avstick is leaking first make sure that the control bag is at the same height or lower than the Avstick arm. This is most often accomplished by hanging the control bag on the hospital bed. The Avstick system is run on a pump rather than a gravity fed system. If the control bag is much higher than the level of the Avstick arm, back pressure can occur as a result in the height difference. Same Level

If your Avstick is still leaking...Line Divider-SMALLMake sure you have working veins. Veins should be changed approximately every 40-60 sticks. Most customers will probably see the need to change around 50 sticks. Make sure the system is flushed before you change the veins.

1. Unstrap the Velcro from the buckles and unzip the sides of the sleeve.

Step 1 CV2. After both sides are unzipped and disconnected, remove the flap at the knuckles that is in place with Velcro. CV 23. Cut off the zip ties and luer connectors from the ends of the latex tubing.CV34. Remove latex tubing, pulling both sides towards the knuckles.

5. Put new latex tubing in (pick the smaller tubing to challenge your students!), starting at the knuckles insert the latex tubing down each pathway. If you struggle, getting the tubing through an opening, use hemostats to pull the tubing through, otherwise, just guide it through with your hands!CV5

6. Use mineral oil or hand sanitizer on the tips of the lure connectors to easily insert them into the tubing. Then, zip-tief them to secure in place.
