Make sure the male clips on the chest plate that are used to connect to the back plate are just behind the top of the SPs shoulder. If the male clips are too low, you will not be able to connect the electrical connection.
If your Avtone electrical connection still isn't connecting... 
Make sure the arrows on the connection pieces are pointing toward each other.
