What types of setups can I choose from when setting up my Avwound?

There are 4 types of setups you can choose from.

Setup 1: Shallow Without Blanching

  • Simulates early-stage pressure ulcers (Stage 1, 2, and healing Stage 3)
  • No fluid used in the simulation
  • Pressure sensors prompt SP to take action if triggered
  • Setup involves attaching the shallow base, silicone ring, and a shallow wound insert before securing the Avwound to the standardized patient (SP)

Setup 2: Shallow With Blanching

  • Simulates early-stage pressure ulcers with blanching for realism
  • No fluid used in the simulation
  • Pressure sensors prompt SP to take action if triggered
  • Setup involves attaching the shallow base, silicone ring, a shallow wound insert, and cooler for the blanching effect before securing the Avwound to the SP

Setup 3: Deep Without Blanching

  • Advanced training for Stage 3/4 pressure ulcers, large lacerations, and surgical wounds
  • Fluid simulation for drainage (no blanching)
  • Setup involves attaching the deep base, deep wound insert, silicone ring, and fluidics tubing for exudate control before securing the Avwound to the SP

Setup 4: Deep With Blanching

  • Simulates deep wounds with blanching and fluid drainage
  • Ideal for training in severe wound management, vascular response, and exudate handling
  • Setup involves attaching the deep base, deep wound insert, silicone ring, fluidics setup, and cooler for blanching effects before securing the Avwound to the SP
